Coronavirus (COVID-19) Statement

The Proud Trust is now operating digitally, as we make significant changes to how we operate in this time of international concern.

All youth groups and 1-1s (face-to-face contact) are not running in their usual venues and are being delivered virtually instead.

Our LGBT Centre is closed, and our training is being postponed or moving virtual.

Youth workers will be sending out Google Hangout links for our group work and 1-1 support. Please contact us if you have any questions.

We are still here for you and all LGBT+ young people.

Please share this with young people or colleagues where relevant.

Digital Youth Work Hub

The Proud Trust is delighted to share with you our LGBT+ Digital Youth Work Pack for work with LGBT+ children and young people. Produced by our youth work coordinators, each section gives voice to the variety of folk who have been part of creating this pack. We are grateful also to the input from colleagues across the LGBT+ Youth Workers’ Network of Ireland, the UK and Islands of Britain, including The Kite Trust, Leicester LGBT Centre, Metro Charity, Allsorts Youth Project, Mosaic LGBT Youth Centre, Gendered Intelligence, Young Person’s Advisory Service Liverpool and BeLonGTo in Ireland.

The Proud Trust is a lifesaving and life-enhancing organisation for LGBT+ children and young people. Our digital work ensures we are able to reach an array of young people in different ways, providing support and learning opportunities to enable them to communicate, connect, create, critically think, and change themselves and the world around them, for a more equal society.

Top tips

  1. Before you start on your digital youth work journey, assess your digital skill set.
  2. Check with your insurers that you are permitted to offer digital youth work.
  3. Keep safeguarding and the policies of the organisation central to what you offer.
