DofE
The Duke of Edinburgh award is a diverse and totally flexible personal development programme that gives you the space to grow your skills, and work on becoming an even better version of you. Alongside this, it’s also proven to boost your chances of getting a job when the award is on your cv, so it’s a win-win!
Completing the award means completing four sections:
At bronze and silver level the commitment for the first four sections is just one hour per week. Already going to a wheelchair basketball group, or going out for a walk once a week? That’s your physical commitment done. Already practicing an instrument, or making online content for an hour a week? That’s your skill commitment done too!
Of course, we know not everybody is hopping, skipping and learning in their free time already, which is why we’ll be helping you get involved in the kinds of physical activities, skills and volunteering opportunities that speak to what you like. Remember, this award can be as unique as you are.
The Duke of Edinburgh award is a programme that is designed to meet you where you are, and be challenging for you. The award will provide opportunities to get in touch with yourself, your community and the world around you and achieve something new you can be proud of.
We are committed to bringing down barriers that can get in the way of taking part in this great opportunity. We encourage anybody who thinks that they would like to do it, if only their physical capabilites weren’t an issue, if only the money wasn’t an issue, if only the Duke of Edinburgh was more for people like me, to come on board and get your award with us.
Is the DofE at TPT right for me?
- Are you aged 14-25?
- Are you LGBT+ identifying, or questioning?
- Are you interested in working on yourself and the world around you?
If the answer to these three questions is yes, then the Duke of Edinburgh award is definitely right for you.
