Youth Out in Oldham

23rd April 2019 @ 4:45 pm – 7:00 pm

Oldham Library
Greaves St
Oldham OL1 1AL

The Oldham group will be held at Oldham Library for our zine project. Meet on the blue chairs in the reception area at 4:50PM.

Zines are small self-published magazines or booklets, created and distributed outside the mainstream media. Much like blogs, there are zines on almost every topic imaginable, some only include writing, while others feature art, photos or poems. The format provides a useful space for the creator to write about their own experiences or interests, which they feel are not represented or spoken about elsewhere.

We are a youth group based in Oldham Town Centre for young lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and questioning people aged between 13 and 24 years. YOIO is a safe space for people to meet other young people like themselves, get involved with fun and informative activities, and above all be the person they want to be.

Some of the activities the group have done include working with Oldham Gallery in art workshops, going to Manchester Pride, trips with the Rochdale LGBT youth group, indoor sports, discussions exploring and identity, movie nights and a whole bag of other stuff!
