TranScripTions 11-19s Trans – Non Binary Writing Competition

Are you trans/non-binary and aged 11-19?

Enter our writing competition this summer for a chance at a cash prize and your work used to showcase young trans/non-binary talent!

The Proud Trust hopes to capture young imaginations and encourage thinking about bigger issues, while developing writing abilities across the nation.

This is your chance to get your work published. Plus there is £400 worth of cash prizes to be split between the winners.

We hope to find and encourage writing stars of the future from all age groups, locations and backgrounds.

Every young person that enters will receive a certificate to celebrate their work.

Entry Specifications


Final submission date is 31st October.

Results will be announced by the end of November 2019.

Maximum 500 words.

Anything goes!* You could write a story, a poem, song or rap lyrics, non-fiction prose… whatever floats your boat. It doesn’t have to be about trans issues!

*No obscene language.

You must be trans and/or non-binary to enter.


We welcome submissions by individuals or pairs. Only two names can be associated to a piece of work. Both applicants must be 11 – 19 years of age.

Original ideas only.


If you submit an entry, you’re agreeing for The Proud Trust to publish it in full or in part.

Winners will be chosen and identified by the end of November 2019.

We can’t wait to inspire the next generation of writing stars and celebrate their talents.
