Coronavirus (COVID-19) Statement

The Proud Trust is now operating digitally, as we make significant changes to how we operate in this time of international concern.

All youth groups and 1-1s (face-to-face contact) are not running in their usual venues and are being delivered virtually instead.

Our LGBT Centre is closed, and our training is being postponed or moving virtual.

Youth workers will be sending out Google Hangout links for our group work and 1-1 support. Please contact us if you have any questions.

We are still here for you and all LGBT+ young people.

Please share this with young people or colleagues where relevant.

LGBT Centre re-build update

After many months and years of research, feasibility studies and consultations we are making good progress with the plans for the LGBT Centre’s re-build. A project of such scale takes a lot of time, energy, skills and money from a medium-sized charity like The Proud Trust. As of September 2016 we have reviewed four options through an appraisal process. This options appraisal considered things like: cost, needs, impact and the funding climate. As a result of this the decision was made that the option for a four-storey building with two floors of supported accommodation was not feasible. Our next stage is to go into more depth to look at two other options. They are a two-storey re-build and a reconfiguration/refurbishment of the current building. With a strong Project Board, staff from The Proud Trust and consultation from our users we are committed to providing a safe and supportive LGBT Centre that meets the demands of our LGBT communities. Thank you to everyone who has been involved with helping us get this far in the process. For more information or offers of support please email Ali Hanbury, LGBT Centre Manager on ali.hanbury@theproudtrust.org.
