Following the publication of our latest guide – “How to Set Up an LGBT+ Group in a School“, we’re delighted to announce details of an upcoming event, celebrating these groups!
Being held on 31 January 2019, at Coop HQ in Manchester, we will be showcasing some of the work that is being developed by young people in four Manchester Coop Academies. In addition to this, we’re seeking other schools to showcase their LGBT+ group’s work – apply here.
This event is perfect for any school staff that currently run, or are thinking about starting, an LGBT+ group in their school. The event will be a chance to help shape a upcoming network – the LGBT+ GSA (Groups in Schools Alliance).
Join us for an interactive day of training that has been heavily subsidised at just £30 per place (usually £140)!
Sexuality aGender v2 is a pioneering, inclusive, sexual health toolkit. Our “train the trainer” style course will enable you to engage with young people in a meaningful conversation about gender identity, sexuality and sexual health using the toolkit. This will in turn help them explore who they are and what they want, in a safe, supported way, free from assumptions.

The Proud Trust are delighted to have been awarded the top grant of £8,000 following two months of in-store voting. During July and Aug customers were provided with voting chips in a special Manchester Pride scheme which saw three local LGBT+ charities all receive grants. The money is helping to fund our Pride events as well as the LGBT+ Centre’s 30th birthday celebrations in November. Thank you to everyone who helped us come out on top!
