Coronavirus (COVID-19) Statement

The Proud Trust is now operating digitally, as we make significant changes to how we operate in this time of international concern.

All youth groups and 1-1s (face-to-face contact) are not running in their usual venues and are being delivered virtually instead.

Our LGBT+ Centre is closed, but in the interim period we're running a Virtual LGBT+ Centre. Details of upcoming events with how to book can be found here.

Our face to face training is also postponed, but some courses have moved virtual. Information on upcoming virtual training, can be found here.

Youth workers will be sending out Google Hangout links for our group work and 1-1 support. Please contact us if you have any questions.

We are still here for you and all LGBT+ young people.

Please share this with young people or colleagues where relevant.

Pride Sports is the UK’s LGBT Sports Development and Equity organisation

Pride Sports was founded in 2006 and was the first, and still one of only two organisations in the UK working to challenge homophobia in sport and improve access to sport for all LGBT people across the world.

Pride Sports was established by two LGBT sports enthusiasts, Trevor Burchick and Louise Englefield, who were joined by Sally Carr, a youth work manager with more than twenty years’ experience of working with young LGBT people.  Trevor Burchick stood down as Director in 2012 and was replaced by Dr Anna Verges. Pride Sports works with many international organisations and is a member of the Federation of Gay Games.

Our basic aims are to challenge homophobia in sport and improve access to sport for LGBT people. In working towards these goals we:

  • Campaign for change
  • Educate
  • Promote good practice
  • Actively grow LGBT participation and satisfaction in sport
