Proud Connections Mentors programme pairs LGBT+ young people with trained LGBT+ adult mentors for regular online support sessions. The programme is open to LGBT+ young people aged 16 – 19 (up to 25 with additional needs) across the UK.
If you are thinking about getting a mentor don't be afraid to ask for it! I didn’t want to bother other people and I thought that they wouldn’t understand the stuff I was experiencing so I kept quiet for ages. The support my mentor gives me is great. Whenever I'm overthinking stuff it's nice to talk it out with someone who is also LGBT+. LGBT+ Young Person
Our trained and experienced LGBT+ mentors provide a safe and supportive space for young people to speak openly about their thoughts, feelings and situation without judgment.
I didn’t have any visible LGBT+ role models when I was younger. I think Proud Connections Mentors is so great for young people now. Jess (they/them) a Proud Connections Mentor
