Rainbow Flag Award

The Rainbow Flag Award is a quality assurance framework for schools, primary and secondary. Through a process of self assessment and ongoing monitoring and feedback, schools will determine how well they are providing safe and supportive environments for lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) students, taking a whole school approach. The award will focus on six key areas:

Schools are encouraged to implement change and make improvements in each area where individual colour badges are available, with a full Rainbow Flag Award badge being presented upon satisfactory standards being met in all areas.

Thanks to funding from the Government Equalities Office, via the Department for Education, we can now offer this opportunity free to up to 200 schools.
The application process for funded places through this stream is now closed.
