    We are receiving an increasing number of requests from primary schools to guide them appropriately to support any trans, gender variant or non-binary children or young people in their care. These requests tend to be reactive, in response to a child or young person “coming out”. We believe that a proactive approach is needed, having the systems, support and education in place, acknowledging the inevitability that a trans, gender variant or non-binary child or young person is already attending your school.

    This one day training course will:

    • Be an in depth exploration of gender and gender identity;
    • Give delegates an appropriate set of terminology pertaining to trans, gender variant and non-binary identities;
    • Explore myths and critique the misrepresentation of trans, gender variant and non-binary people in popular culture and the media;
    • Understand at the legal, Oftsed and moral obligations of a primary school to meet the needs of a trans, gender variant or non-binary child in their care;
    • Offer appropriate signposting to organisations that can offer support to a trans child and their family;
    • Identify practical solutions to help create an inclusive primary school environment.

    Attendance on this course will also provide you with a complimentary copy of “Alien Nation“, our book for use with KS2 children, that explores gender, gender expression, gender expectations as well as introducing important trans terminology. This book in turn gives you access to free further wrap-around learning resources.

    This course is aimed at, and is appropriate for, all primary education professionals, including teachers, Head Teachers, SLT, school governors and teaching assistants.

    Cost £130* per delegate.

    *Rainbow Flag Award member schools £104 per delegate, enter your discount code at the point of booking. This course will give you the skills and resources to better meet the standards in the red Skilled Teacher, green Inclusive Curriculum and blue Pastoral Support sections.

    Sexuality aGender v2 is a brand new, pioneering resource pack. It is NOT a sexual health package for LGBT+ young people, it is an inclusive pack for ALL young people.

    The Proud Trust has an extensive history of working with LGBT+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, plus other related identities) young people. Over the years, these LGBT+ young people have consistently told us that the sexual health information they have received in mainstream education has not been meeting their needs, for a variety of reasons.

    Sexuality aGender v2 will enable you to engage with young people in a meaningful conversation about gender identity, sexuality and sexual health. This will in turn help them explore who they are and what they want, in a safe, supported way, free from assumptions.

    Delegates will receive a Sexuality aGender v2 toolkit (cost without training £25) to take away and deliver in their settings.

    Cost £140* per delegate.

    *Rainbow Flag Award member schools £112 per delegate, enter your discount code at the point of booking. This course will give you the skills and resources to better meet the standards in the green Inclusive Curriculum and blue Pastoral Support sections.

    The Proud Trust has run an effective and successful Peer Support Project for many years. Peer support models work on the idea that non-professionals (in this case young people) can provide flexible social, emotional and practical support to one another through their personal knowledge and experiences. This type of service can complement and enhance existing provision.

    This one day training course will:

    • Increase participant confidence, encouraging delegates to start and maintain Peer Support Projects in their own settings;
    • Offer a comprehensive set of resources that can be shared with Peer Supporters, that help build healthier lifestyle choices in their supportees;
    • Develop the skills to support Peer Supporters, to enhance and maintain their own well-being;
    • Gives tools to empower Peer Supporters to care for themselves effectively.

    Participants on this course will go away with a comprehensive Train the Trainer: Peer Support Pack (not available without training), which may be used directly to set up a Peer Support Project, or adapted to support the development of other peer or youth-led initiatives, such as  young people working on campaigns, or setting up and running of a support group.

    Cost £125* per delegate.

    *Rainbow Flag Award member schools £100 per delegate, enter your discount code at the point of booking. This course will give you the skills and resources to better meet the standards in the blue Pastoral Support and purple Pupil Voice sections.
