Coronavirus (COVID-19) Statement

The Proud Trust is now operating digitally, as we make significant changes to how we operate in this time of international concern.

All youth groups and 1-1s (face-to-face contact) are not running in their usual venues and are being delivered virtually instead.

Our LGBT Centre is closed, and our training is being postponed or moving virtual.

Youth workers will be sending out Google Hangout links for our group work and 1-1 support. Please contact us if you have any questions.

We are still here for you and all LGBT+ young people.

Please share this with young people or colleagues where relevant.

LGBT+ Ambassadors Skills

Using the knowledge, skills and creativity of young people to deliver awareness campaigns around LGBT+ people and identities can be very powerful indeed!

Introduction to LGBT+ Ambassador Skills is a three hour interactive workshop for groups of up to 20 young people where the group will:

  • Have learned some key skills for effective campaigning;
  • Have critiqued a number of local, national or international existing, or previously ran, LGBT+ awareness campaigns;
  • Have identified the gaps in LGBT+ awareness that exist in their school, college or community;
  • Have started to plan their campaign.

Ongoing support in the campaign planning and delivery can be negotiated.

Introduction to LGBT+ Ambassadors Skills training can help in the Pastoral Support and/or Pupil Voice section of the Rainbow Flag Award.

N.B. It is strongly recommended that this course is not booked in isolation. We encourage that a member of staff also attend our one day training course, “Effectively Supporting Youth-Led Initiatives“, to ensure that the developing projects are properly supervised. Find the next available course here.
